Manama, Mar. 3 (BNA): The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for International Affairs, Dr. Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, today chaired the National Network for International Affairs meeting.
The meeting was attended by the Head of Mission of the International Organisation for Migration and Acting Resident Coordinator of United Nations activities in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Mohammed Al-Zarqani, in addition to members of the Network who are representing ministries and governmental bodies.
During the meeting, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah recalled the success of the Kingdom of Bahrain in establishing extended and solid foreign partnerships, noting that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is working to achieve coordination between the various stakeholders in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the countries of the world, as well as international organisations and blocs, in order to contribute to facilitating the conclusion and implementation of the agreements signed in various fields, and breaking new ground for joint cooperation. He also mentioned that Bahrain is taking consistent steps in the governance of international partnerships, highlighting the total contributions of the government to the multilateral system, in line with Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.
Al-Zarqani touched on the role played by the United Nations and its specialised agencies in promoting cooperation opportunities and facing the existing challenges, explaining that the meeting is an opportunity to come up with recommendations on the best ways to implement joint projects and initiatives.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the development of work mechanisms between Bahrain and the United Nations and its specialised agencies, in addition to reviewing the international agreements to be concluded during the coming period in the context of following up Bahrain’s implementation of its international obligations.
The meeting also saw the exchange of views on future steps of the National Network for International Affairs and its role to promote the contributions and partnerships of the Kingdom of Bahrain in international organisations.
